2 Months Till 2

JD is very into rocks right now.  He'll find them anywhere, show everyone his awesome treasure,  and save them in his pockets. (O, on the other hand will put anything he finds into his mouth- like tulip petals.)

I don't think he minds getting his face touched. (See yesterday's post.)

His favorite animal right now is definitely a lion.  I think it's because he gets to ROAR.  My mom is convinced he's ready to see The Lion King on Broadway.

He also loves music- any kind of music :)  He also likes to sing.  As I type this, I am enjoying some awesome, happy singing/yelling/screeching.

And he is a big helper- especially with things like "put these in your room" or "go get me a pacifier for O".

JD turned 22 months today!  That means it's really spring, and practically almost summer, since I know those months will fly by!  That also means I really need to get my butt in gear planning this party.

We decided on a firework theme since his birthday is the 3rd of July, and we did red, white, & blue stars last year.  I have a bunch of food/decoration ideas pinned, but I know I need to start working on them now if I want to have enough time to get them done.

We had portraits taken of the boys last week, so as soon as I get the proofs, I'll be making invites.  I'm also taking an idea from Suzanne and making a photo book to use as a guest book.  (Also hoping hubby uses the photos to make me a photo card or personalized gift for Mother's Day.  hint hint)

Our photographer sent us these sneak peeks from the shoot:

Disclosure: In return for planting some links into this "Oh My! It's Spring! I Need to Start Planning a Party" post, Shutterfly is giving me 50 free photo cards that I can use for invites or thank you cards.  Have a blog? Sign up for a chance at 50 free cards from Shutterfly.

PS:
The babycenter email I just got said that "true jumping, where both feet leave the ground at the same time and then land squarely, is a skill that requires excellent balance and may take a few more months to master."  At least I can take some consolation in knowing I have a super advanced jumper (he's been truly jumping for a couple months now) when I'm worried about his lack of words.

  2. Stopping by from SITS

What a cutie! My daughter is going to be 2 in June as well and I'm really dragging ass on the party planning front. I wish I were rich so I could have my "people" take care of the plans and I could eat the cake ;)

  3. Aw, such sweeties! My 3-year-old brings me rocks and makes me pet them and hug them. I always have to remember to check his pockets before doing laundry!

  4. Ohh! I've been wondering what is the best age to bring a little person to see the Lion King! I think you should definitely take JD. You can be my guinea pig.
