Moms' Night In

My husband has been working a lot of late nights, so I decided that instead of sitting on the couch watching TV by myself last night, I would invite some friends over for an evening of drinks & desserts after the kids are all tucked in.

I didn't have a chance to bake, so I supplied some not-at-all healthy snacks, and a couple kinda-sorta health-conscious snacks.  Added to this were cheesecake bites, brownies, and an amazing assortment of chocolate covered treats.  Also- this is a great time to use up all the leftover party goods!

I attended a Moms' Night Out at a friend's home last week, and it was a great night of girl talk, venting, and laughing.  We learned so much more about each other than we ever would have while chasing our kids, and it reminded me of how I would stay up late talking with my roommates in college.  Last night was a great continuation, and we couldn't believe it when we realized we had been chatting well past midnight!

Stocking the cooler is very important!
We've decided to make it a weekly event (on a weeknight since weekends get a little crazy for everyone), and I recommend this for every mom.  It is something fun to look forward to that is low-key enough to do regularly.  It also was great motivation to clean my house, clear the toys off the deck, and wear a real bra.  It felt like a tiny bit of freedom even though my boys were inside sleeping and the monitor was humming.

**Important Note: The morning after a Moms' Night sucks.  But it is SO worth it.

Anyone else out there enjoy Moms' Nights Out/In?

  1. Looks like fun! And the leftover party supplies make it so very mom's night instead of just girls night. Love it!
